Reducing Overproduction Through Revolutionised Pattern Software
Tech Tailors aims to minimise overproduction in the fashion industry through revolutionised pattern software. With Tech Tailor’s pattern software, brands and manufacturers regain control, flexibility and speed. This enables them to produce in real time, thereby significantly reducing overproduction.
Legacy pattern software uses a traditional graphical approach to create patterns, rather than a scientific approach. It’s an inherently limited pattern generation method that is often inflexible. Tech Tailors spent six years developing a mathematical approach to pattern generation. Tech Tailor’s software converts industry standard DXF patterns to its own proprietary dynamic pattern format, after which it can export the altered pattern to any file format. Even native cut files.
The Benefits of Tech Tailor’s Pattern Technology
Tech Tailor’s proprietary pattern software enables brands and manufacturers to create patterns in real time, resulting in:
1. Control
Once the technical design team has agreed on the pattern, Tech Tailors ensures that the pattern is what is actually being produced in the factory. Due to native cut files, the produced garment will be identical to the agreed upon sample.
2. Interoperability
Tech Tailor’s software will convert the pattern into a cut file for the appropriate cutting machine. This means the pattern can be sent to whichever factory has capacity at that point in time, and the factory will be able to start production immediately, without any manual interference from the factory workers.
3. Shorter lead times
Tech Tailor’s software is flexible enough to adjust to demand. One style is selling out quickly, but the fabric on stock has a different stretch factor? TT software will instantly send out a new batch of patterns to the factory with the fabric in stock. No new sampling round required.
Production Methods
TT’s software can be used to reduce overproduction for:
- MTM Production: On-demand custom production, tailored to the customer’s individual measurements.
- MTO Production: On-demand custom production, in standard sizes.
- JIT Production: Just-in-time batch production. Based on demand forecasting, or fabric inventory, manufacturers produce in short lead times.
